This is alarming for Nigeria and Africa,
- 60,000 children under five years old die every year from diarrhea caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation.
- 57 million people in Nigeria do not have access to safe water.
- Over 130 million people don't have access to adequate sanitation in Nigeria, two thirds of the population. (Ref: WaterAid Nigeria).
At present in Africa, over
300 million people have no access to clean water
that is, more than 40% the
total population (Ref: Institute Water for Africa).
